Frozen Cocktails Recipes - PART TWO!
If you follow our blog, you’ll know that last year we gave you some of our favourite frozen cocktail recipes for you to try at home. Last summer was very different to this summer, and it wasn’t until July where we could do the things we could do the things we enjoy the most, however, there was still many restrictions placed upon us due to the COVID-19 pandemic. A year on, it’s looking very likely that restrictions in the UK will be over almost entirely on the 21st of June to the rollout of vaccinations and cases dropping. Even if we can go out this year, it doesn’t mean that there may be some points that we would rather stay home and enjoy the comfort of our own home. If so, we have provided recipes for some of the most delicious frozen cocktails that you can prepare at home this summer!
Frozen Mango Daiquiri
This three-ingredient tropical delicacy is perfect for quenching your thirst in the sun this summer, bursting with flavours to help you get the very best out of the sun.
Ingredients
60ml of unflavoured vodka
60ml of white rum
One mango
One cup of ice cubes, preferably crushed
One maraschino cherry
Method
Firstly, peel your mango, chop into small pieces and add to a blender. Chopping to mango into smaller pieces will allow the mango to blend easier and will prevent the cocktail from being lumpy.
Add all of your alcohol into the blender, then add the ice on top of the alcohol.
Blend the mixture to a smooth consistency, like slush. Pulsing may help to achieve this without melting the ice.
Serve in a martini glass garnished with the maraschino cherry.
Frozen Peach Margaritas
Margaritas! One of the most refreshing cocktails out there. This recipes puts a frozen twist on the classic and adds a hint of peach.
Ingredients
Six very ripe peaches, stones, peeled, then cut into chunks
240ml of tequila
120ml of cointreau
150ml water
Four tablespoons of sugar syrup
Five limes - four juiced and one cut into slices
Method
A day before serving the cocktails, tip all of the ingredients but the lime slices into freezer-proof box, add 150ml of water, then freeze until the ingredients are needed the following day.
Place eight margarita glasses into your freezer 20 minutes before serving the margaritas.
Tip the ice ingredients from the freezer into a blender and whizz until it forms a smooth, slushy mixture. This can be done in batches if necessary.
Divide the mix between the glasses and top each with lime slices.
Mango Castaway
Back again with the mango! This time for a unique twist on the much loved pina colada, which produces a delightfully fragrant and tasty cocktail.
Ingredients
Two cups of frozen mango
Six ounces of aged rum
Four ounces of any coconut rum
Five tablespoons of sweetened condensed milk
Drinks decoration
Method
Blend the mango, aged rum, coconut rum, milk, additionally to 4 cups of ice until the mixture is smooth.
If the mixture appears lumpy, pulse until smooth.
Serve in Pina Colada glasses or any cocktail glasses you may own.
Decorate with umbrellas, maraschino cherry or any other cocktail decoration.
Life's A Peach
We doubled up with the mango, so lets also double up with the peach! If you’re not a fan of peach or mango, then today might not be your day; but if not, your summer at home’s on us!
Ingredients
Three cups of frozen sliced peaches
Two cups of crushed ice
Six ounces of bourbon whisky
Two ounces of honey
One ounce of freshly squeezed lemon juice
One ounce of freshly squeezed lime juice
An eighth of a teaspoon of ground cardamom
Method
Blend together the frozen sliced peaches, crushed ice, bourbon whisky, honey, lemon juice, lime juice, additionally to the two cups of ice until the mixture is smooth.
If the mixture appears lumpy, pulse until the mixture is smooth.
Serve in any cocktail glasses you may own.
Watermelon, Lime, and Tequila
As simple as it sounds! This delicious and highly refreshing drink is ideal for scorching hot summer days in your garden.
Ingredients
Three and a half cups of frozen watermelon pieces
One thick Jalapeno slice with seeds
Six ounces of tequila blanco
Four ounces of a simple syrup
Two ounces of fresh lime juice
Three cups of ice
Watermelon wedges to garnish
Method
Add all of your ingredients beside the watermelon wedges to a blender or food processor, with the alcohol and ice last.
Blend until it forms a slushy mixture and pulse to remove any lumps.
Add to tall cocktail glasses and serve with the watermelon wedges.
