Ovens

There are two main types of ovens available - built-under and built-in. This refers to how they will be fitted in your kitchen.

A built-under oven will be fitted underneath a worktop, into your kitchen cabinets, to create a sleek and seamless look.

A built-in oven will be placed within a column cabinet at eye-level. This is a great choice as it makes lifting dishes in and out of the oven much easier as there's no lifting required - which is great for hefty cookware.

It's also a good idea to not only think about the fitment but also what you need from the oven. Will you need one oven or two? Do you need a grill and what extra features do you need to help make life a bit easier? Some popular extra handy features available on most ovens include:

  • Digital Controls - So you can be more accurate and choose more precise temperature levels. Digital controls will usually offer more flexibility and guidance than dials too, resulting in a more streamlined look!
  • Programable timer - Lets you set the oven to cook for a specific time - even as much as 24 hours in advance. The oven will automatically turn on, cook and turn off afterwards.
  • Slide & hide door - Allows you to slide away the oven door completely underneath the oven, which is great if you have limited access.
  • Self-cleaning - Helps make life that bit easier, saving on elbow grease and money spent on oven cleaning products.

Hobs

Here at Budget Appliances, we stock the four main types of hobs:

  • CeramicA ceramic hob will have electric zones hidden underneath the surface of the cooker. This makes it a lot smoother and easier to clean.
  • GasGas hobs are known for being very easy to control and providing instant, responsive heat.
  • InductionInduction hobs are a very energy efficient choice for cooking and they're one of the safest hobs for families with young children.
  • Solid PlateEasy to control, provides and excellent heat distribution and is very cost-effective to run.

These hobs will usually have 4 burners and be 60cm wide or 5 burners and be 70cm wide. Though, if you do require it, we do stock hobs in larger sizes.

Dishwashers

Dishwashers can be excellent, virtually indispensable appliances, perfect for any modern home. They save you time and money and can just help make family life that bit easier.

We stock 2 types of dishwasher fit types: integrated and freestanding.

An integrated dishwasher is especially useful if you are conscious about how your kitchen looks, as you can hide the dishwasher behind your kitchen cupboards. This is also a great way to add some extra room if you’re low on space.

A freestanding model will be useful if you expect to move to a new house in the future and will be easier to repair or replace if something goes wrong.

It's also good to think about which functions will benefit your household the most - a variety of programmes and temperatures will be available to help make life that bit easier including an eco-setting, delay start, sensor cycles and glass care.

Fridge Freezers

Before you buy your fridge freezer, think carefully about how big it needs to be to suit your lifestyle and family size. A two-door model will take up less space, yet still store enough food for all the family. If you need more space, consider an American fridge freezer.

It's also a good idea to check the energy rating to keep running costs as low as possible. An A+++ rating is the most efficient while A++ and A+ are still economical.

Most fridge freezers will come with the very useful frost-free feature but make sure that the model you have your eye on has other added extras that'll help make life easier.
